Notes on the day

I suspect that some of the illness of yesterday was caused by the mozzerella sticks I had at Prospectors at the new hires' lunch (for the folks who started this week)... and for which I paid twice the already-inflated price, because they decided to split the bill up evenly rather than have everyone pay for their actual lunches >:( Ah well, serves me right, I suppose, for just getting a snack rather than asking if there were any vegetarian options on any of the actual lunches. Mom also included some cookies in a "care package" which, in all honesty, is her sending me clothes that I'm not all that crazy about because she thinks she can dress me better than I can. It was a nice sentiment, even though I'm not big into Asian almond cookies and they got pulverized, but then ~30min. after eating one, my stomach staged a small coup and I discovered that the 4th ingredient is eggs :( I'll probably have to tell her, just in case she tries to take these to her little... vegetarian religious group... in case she ends up making some of them sick, too :( She'll be sad about that, I'll bet she likes these cookies.

Spilled hot tea on my hand today, owie :( If I manage to injure myself next week Thursday, there'll be a pattern going (fell down the stairs last Tuesday). I have also discovered that I like swishy slacks--slacks that are loose around the feet and ankles. For some reason the swishiness makes me happy when I walk :) I think it makes my legs look less gargantuan, too. But I need a pair of pin-stripey pants, because they're hot and would look better with my solid colored blouses, methinks. And maybe a pair of brown slacks. I look very severe in red and black, which is what I wore today, and I think I look better in brown & tan tones than perhaps any other color (including green, sadly), although blue may be a reasonable rival.

Congratulations to [info]cosmorific for not only making a funny, but a catchy one--I can't read a typo now without hearing, "omg, SPOILERZ!!11ten!!" and snickering ^^;; Ah, the infinite amusement of teasing the Harry Potter fan population...

What is it with me and red fruit? o_0 I see red fruit, and then I must buy/eat it! omgwtfbbq!sauce, it's not even funny ;_; Why red? I don't even really like the color red. And red has such high stain potential -_-

Bought and read Fruits Basket 10 last night, finally (and yes, I read it all in one sitting right when I thought I was going to go to bed... I blame manga for my still having not ironed any of my shirts that need it, and I think I wore my last doesn't-need-to-be-ironed blouse today ;_; Boo.) Borders also does not carry Hate by the Delgados. I will have to see if there are any other places to get music around here (with this many shopping malls? There has to be...). But they do have Avril Lavigne's Under My Skin. Perhaps I will get that... because I have bad taste in music and I like her voice ._. I'm sorry. And yes, I will eventually get around to that meme that I'm now... thrice tagged for. Perhaps it will help me figure out "what kind of music I like," because I still don't have a good answer to that question other than, "music you probably don't like."

I need to redesign my website :( It shouldn't look so much like candy, and I'm not in high school anymore -_- And perhaps I should get a DevArt account of my own... I dunno.

It occurred to me to give some advice on my Comcast cable experience since everyone I know is moving, has just moved, or is about move, since it was helpful to at least one person I've talked to. This is for people who aren't getting cable TV, and don't want or need the land line (and thus don't feel like considering DSL), but want internet. Apparently, there are some Comcast folks who won't tell you about it, but there's something called Limited Basic, also known as antenna service, that's only $9.99 per month or so (it's only like the normal 10 channels), and it counts as cable video service, which means you get like $15 per month off of internet, which makes it cheaper than getting the cheapest land line with Verizon, at least, and getting DSL (in Jersey... don't know about elsewhere). Also, if you're a first-time Comcast customer, they've got a "$19.99 per month for internet" deal if you have/get cable video service. Is sweet, yes? :)

Also, if your new apartment place offers to put in new carpet, think twice :( Mine is pilling and shedding like a cat in the summer heat, to the point where my existence here appears to be lived on the back of a large, square, nylon, shaggy dog ;_; It's driving me insane >_< Grar.

*general huggle*

I can't believe you dreamed about talking with me about Harry Potter...even if it is accurate...>_>

Thanks for the Comcast advice! That'll probably come in handy very soon.

So Fruits Basket 10...that means you now know more of the plot than I do (at least, more details about more of the plot)! Heehee.

LOL, well, really, it was more you talking to me about Harry and me laughing at you, but then that's pretty accurate as well :P Let me know when you're done on the revisions to the Monstrosity ^_^

And yes... Fruits Basket 10. I'm rather miffed about something in it, but I'll have to save that for a spoiler cut sometime ("OMG, teh SPOILERZ!!111eleventy11!1" XD LOL).

Oh it does... Jersey manages to somehow convince California to send out some of the good stuff, in terms of strawberries, at least. They're sweeter here than the best ones I found around Boston, but perhaps it's because I was never in Boston during the summer. Unfortunately, red fruit combined with the massive amounts of green tea I've started imbibing seems to be inducing some stomach acidity problems :(
